When does the Buddy System not work?

 Unfortunately, having someone with you while black isn't working in our country. What can change that? Staying home much more? Not for Breona did it work. Is dressing in a certain way protective for anyone of color? I wish that could be true. Maybe if everyone who is at risk wore a jersey with a number? Maybe if everyone at risk put a sign on their door, or sticker, that they were EMS? What is the solution? I would like to know. Until then, I will light many candles.

I use a titanium rotary Fiskar cutter, a board I bought for $10 from Corelle Outlet in St. Augustine, FL last December, and an 8 inch by 10 inch picture frame matt for the pattern for a mask that I use 3 pieces (same size). Two are folded over and one is the "front."  The edges of the long side are folded over so channels are made for string/shoe laces/thick yarn. Tie it behind the head. No ear involvement. I was interviewed for an ezine about Poncho Power. For more than 20 years I have been making ponchos for people who breast feed, people who have breast cancer, and now people getting dialysis. I made one wool one for my Dad. I make them for myself all the time out of old silk scarves or pashmina scarves from charity shops.  I gave 40 ponchos to women at a shelter in Colorado during the fires years ago from new cotton fabric from Joann's Fabric. That was a lot of work. I don't go to movies, or plays or operas, and I make my own clothes and ponchos. Pretty green, maybe?

Florence did not have her Fred Astaire Dance make-up on. Rita walked to her house almost every day for a cup of tea and a conversation with her. Florence painted over 3000 paintings. Rita was a retired Roman Catholic nurse. They knew each other for many, many years. I don't know how they met. I remember Rita had a bracelet with 3 charms and she didn't think Florence should go on all the trips to dance. So they did not agree about everything.
